Pharmaceutical Management
Pharmaceutical Management is the central administration module for maintaining all medicine, store, and laboratory item master data. It is accessed from Administration > Pharmaceutical Management and provides tools for managing item definitions, categories, dosage forms, institutional records, and data quality checks.
- Click Administration in the main menu
- Select Pharmaceutical Management
The page displays a left-hand accordion panel with the following sections, and the selected management page loads in the right-hand content area.
Foundation data used across all item types:
- Pharmaceutical Item Categories - manage item categories
- Dosage Forms - manage dosage forms (e.g. Tablet, Capsule, Syrup)
- ATC Classification - manage Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical codes
- Add Unit / List Units / Manage Units - manage measurement units
- Issue Categories - manage categories for issued/discarded items (see Managing Issue Categories)
- Adjustment Categories - manage categories for stock adjustments
Manage individual pharmaceutical items. Each item type supports adding, editing, deleting, activating/deactivating, and full audit history. See Pharmaceutical Item Management for the detailed guide.
- VTMs - Virtual Therapeutic Moieties (generic drug names)
- ATMs - Actual Therapeutic Moieties (brand/trade names)
- VMPs - Virtual Medicinal Products (generic formulations)
- AMPs - Actual Medicinal Products (branded products)
- VMPPs - Virtual Medicinal Product Packages
- AMPPs - Actual Medicinal Product Packages
Manage store items using the same interface and workflow as pharmaceuticals. Separate item data for general store consumables and supplies.

Manage laboratory items using the same interface and workflow. Separate item data for lab reagents and materials.

- Item Suppliers - link specific items to their suppliers
Data quality tools:
- Item Distributor - view item distribution across departments
- Error Detection - detect data entry errors
- Error Detection By Date - detect errors within a date range
- Error Detection Report - generate error reports by department
- Department Stock By Batch minus - find negative batch stock
- Remove Duplicates - identify and remove duplicate entries

All pharmaceutical, store, and lab items support active/inactive status. Inactive items are excluded from transaction searches and dropdowns but their records are preserved. See Pharmaceutical Item Management for details.
Every action on an item (create, edit, activate, deactivate, delete) is recorded with the user, timestamp, and detailed changes. See Pharmaceutical Audit History.
Users must have the Pharmacy Administration privilege to access this module.
