I agree that it's better to wrap timeline with arrows in math mode, and it makes arrows stay consistent with other \tos

Fix LaTeX rendering for inline timelines and state transitions by wrapping variable names and arrows in math mode and updating captions to use$\to$ . This ensures consistent typesetting and avoids bad glyphs in the PDF.
