In version 4.4, ZamTube was changed to use a new circuit/algorithm:
- ZamTube now based on a new circuit focusing on clean, warm tones with valve-like distortion at high settings.
(from the changelog file).
The new behavior is significantly different from the previous one. For users who relied on the older ZamTube character, this effectively changes the plug-in's "sonic identity" and may affect existing projects (it did, for me).
It would be great to have an option to choose between the new 4.4 algorithm and the legacy pre-4.4 algorithm. This would preserve backward compatibility and give users access to both tonal options, since they serve different creative purposes.
