A feature to connect chapters/scenes as alternatives for each other?

So, I'm finding NW lacks in one specific feature. When I have several different version of a chapter/scene, I might want to put them together somehow, so it's visible to me these are alternatives for the same chapter/scene.

I guess this feature can be partially solved by versioning chapters/scenes, but it would not make it trivial to see a chapter/scene has an alternative available.

It's an A/B problem for part of the story. I want to be able to see at a glance which chapters/scenes have alternatives available in the project tree and be able to switch between them with as few clicks as possible.

I'm posting this here because I'm not entirely certain whether I'm making sense, nor am I sure how this is supposed to work.
