Not able to find some tags in the list

Hello all,

I am not getting following options in "Things" or "Places" sections in StreetComplete app for Android = restaurant, fast food corner, Food, Snacks center, Pharmacy, Medical shop

StreetComplete App version: v63.1

Survey details for reference=

Country: India
City: Pune

Common things & places those I am adding = medical, pharmacy, restaurant, fast food center, tea centers, news paper stalls, fruit stalls, public gardens, book shops.

These categories are not so common in European countries. How to add those tags in database? Thank you.

what exactly you are searching for in Places layer to get restaurant?

what are your language settings?

restaurants and pharmacies are included, so for now I am confused what is going on here

can you try putting just "Restaurant"?

if it does not work, can you take screenshot and share it?

I shared the issue also at OpenStreetMap - India XMPP channel and the issue is resolved.

I was previously adding something in the "Things" overlay, but didn't press Back to exit it (and switch to the Places overlay) when I started trying to add the restaurant.

All good now.

If legitimate search term does not find something it would be more likely to be https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema issue, but it still would be worth reporting (or adding to India dialect of English in iD tagging schema translation).

I've seen that issue reported somewhere already (possibly as an offside comment), but am unable to find it (nor do I remember if it was addressed).
(does anyone have a link? pinging @riQQ who is usually very good at finding them 😅) .

It might be good idea to propose (as a a new issue) that active "add POI" should be automatically closed when user changes the overlay to avoid such confusions in the future
