1. Filter to see content that supports thumbnails
2. Seek on the seekbar

What did you expect to happen?

I expect to see the frame i see in the thumbnail preview when seeking to that timestamp

Frame in thumbnail preview isnt being shown when seeked to it

Tested on Brave and FF with nightly demo and it doesnt seem to be fixed. It seems the preview is ~5 sec off and its a preview of the past

The thumbnails intentionally do not match the framerate of the video otherwise you would be downloading the entire video just for the thumbnails, so in most cases they are much less exact e.g. 1 fps in standard hls streams that you'll get in the shaka-player demo youtube's ones are 0.1 fps.

Which im totally okay with but to me the current behavior doesnt feel the same as described by her

I don't think there's anything we can do about this on the player side. DASH thumbnails are generated by the packaging side, and the MPD maps time ranges to the corresponding images/tiles. You could lower the sprite generation interval to provide more granular thumbnails.
