[gui] user filter presets do not populate menu until refresh

Describe the bug
When saving a user preset, the active filter preset does not update, and the preset menu does not include the user's saved preset, until the page is refreshed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. create a preset, name and save it
2. notice that "current" item in menu does not update
3. dropdown does not contain preset.
4. refresh
5. active item should be the preset (but is not)
6. however, the preset IS in the menu after refreswh.

Expected behavior
Immediately update current preset and is visible in menu
