Programming only or command & control

Does the protocol that's been reversed engineered show that it's only for configuration control, or does it also allow for command & control operation? For example, soft control of PTT, channel selection, power control?

You can fully control the radio and all features.

The AT878 is muted once the programming cable is connected. So practically no I guess. If there are solutions please share details.

@jrobertfisher : Your solution is for the AT578 only, right?

I'd guess the software/firmware works the same/similar for both the 578 and the 878. I don't have an 878 to test with.

The trick is figuring out how to interface with the radio without the mic port on the 578.
