Mapping and Routing Regression Tests

Since we are rewriting the mapping and routing, and we may want to change functions in the future, I think it would be useful for us to create some regression tests. Or just some tests in general to ensure our functions are working as intended.

I don't think I can work on this right away, but if no one is interested in this I can probably get to it next week.
