Apply filter to the search

It would be nice to see the search filtered based on the filter of the webpart itself. For example, if you filter the webpart to a certain category/subcategory/playlist it would be nice if the search only searched that category/subcategory/playlist.

I am not certain, but I think the search does work with the source. Meaning if you set a specific source then it only searches that source.

It does not, the search is scoped to the entire catalog of content, but I can see why you would want that feature. Will mark this as an enhancement request.
