Friends "dot" doesn't appear in the correct location on the map

Running 2.5.9 from Google play. My wife is the only person on my mqtt server with an iphone (possibly relevant?), and her friend dot often appears in the wrong place on the map. The location coordinates and reverse geo lookup are correct, but the dot itself is in the previous location. It doesnt move when the update is received. If I kill the app and restart it, something triggers that causes it to show up in the correct place.

It is quite unlikely that iOS is the culprit, particularly since you say the location coordinates are correct. I assume you've verified by subscribing to your MQTT broker and looking at what the iPhone publishes to it.

I didn't check the MQTT broker since the coordinates and address were correct, but I will confirm.

Device is a Motorola razr+ 2024 running Android 16.

(Sometimes) when I click on a friend in Friends list, the map focuses on his correct location, but his dot (picture) is somewhere else. His coordinates are also correct. Just the dot is misplaced.

Same here, 3 friends.
Apps:
1x 2.5.9 from github on GrapheneOS
2x 2.5.9 from fdroid on Android 16
1x 2.5.9 from Play Store on Android 16

As in the other reports, the coordinates are correct but the dot is incorrect. The update time is recent (correct) as well.
Sometimes the map goes to the right location but the dot is still in the old location.

I have also seen my own location dot being incorrect but it was correct in the webpage pulled directly from the server (comparison done at the same time with the phone next to the monitor).

Having the same issue with two phones. Completely restarting the app seems to update the map positions. Web interface seems to update properly. I'm guessing one the recent updates to the Android app broke this?

I can confirm this behavior.
Closing the App plus restart fixes the Problem temporarily.

In case it helps - my suspicion about iOS being related was wrong. I'm seeing the same issue with updates from Android clients (which makes sense because it seems to be a local client rendering issue)
