Can't reach webpage of my Birdnetpi but I can connect by SSH.

Hi,

My birdnetpi is running for a couple of weeks now and we love it! It ran without any problem until this morning. I woke up and wanted to check the Birdnetpi but couldn't reach it on the internet of at .local. I can reach it in the powershell by SSH. I tried rebooting it in the powershell but this didn't help.

Any suggestions for a beginner?

Hi, @Joopieh Thanks for your kind words about BirdNET-Pi. I'm glad you've been able to enjoy your system for the last few weeks and am sorry you've encountered an issue today.

It sounds like there is an issue with the caddy webserver. If you could please SSH into the system and issue the command below, we can look through its output to see whether the issue can be found there:

journalctl -n100 -ucaddy --no-pager --no-hostname

sudo rm -drf /var/lib/caddy/.local/share/caddy/locks/* && sudo systemctl restart caddy

Hey guys, I had the same problem as Joopieh and your solution @mcguirepr89 helped:

sudo systemctl stop caddy
sudo -E caddy run --config /etc/caddy/Caddyfile --adapter caddyfile

I can get it working with the command that works for Bryszard as well. The problem is after a reboot I have the same problem as before.

Yes i tried it yesterday without succes. I just did all the steps above again and now it seems to work! Thanks for your help!

I had the same issue, and it started after I added authentication. In the end, I just edited out the authentication parameters from the Caddyfile, and it started immediately. The other symptom was that the caddy process appeared to be in a hard loop consuming a full cpu. I also made a change to the first line of the Caddyfile -- and set it to :80 { which helped.
