MATE Panel Window Switcher Icons won't scale

Steps to Reproduce

1.Enable Mate panel (all horizontal settings)
2.Add Workspace Switcher
3.Modify/change panel size
4.Workspace Icons won't scale the width along with the height with Panel size changes.
Mate Panel v1.27
libwnck 3 43.3-1
all versions directly from Debian testing v14
I'm not sure this is a bug or feature. I've seen this issue mentioned in several places with an occasional resolution of using an earlier version of libwnck. I'd like to fix this but I'm unable to find the code for the scaling of these icons. I'm not sure it takes place in libwnck or gtk. Can we get this fixed or can you point me to the correct file for modification?

Expected Behavior

The ultimate outcome would be to have the workspace switcher panel widget scale the width of the workspace icons along with the height, or even a setting for both the panel height AND the icon width.

Actual Behavior

What actually occurs is the Mate Panel workspace switcher icon width does not change when the panel size is changed vertically.

Thanks. I've seen all that along with downgrading libwnck, but since an earlier libwnck worked, is it really libwnck or the later version Mate that's not doing the right thing?

I believe it is a bit of both. The change in libwnck, and Switcher Panel removing its pixel-width setting coincided at the same time. (2021) Switcher supposedly fixed it [wnck-pager: Fix workspace switcher aspect ratio] in version 1.27.3, unfortunately the official MATE distro still ships with v1.27.1. I am only just starting to experiment with this myself.
