Hi! Wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to design and build my own barn door tracker. I’ve relied heavily on your design and code, and made some adaptations to suit my ideas. And learnt a lot in the process :)
Have made my own design for the hinge and gearing mechanism, but was able to use yours as a reference to get going. But the biggest confidence boost was seeing how the stepper motor just came to life with the code and pi pico and other kit you showed me how to use.
Some minor tweaks I’ve made to your code (with the help of chatgpt because I am no developer myself) were to add different tracking rates (sidereal you had, but want to also track the moon, sun, and major planets and these require slightly different rates). And a direction reverser. Both are controlled by beidging certain GPIO pins with a jumper wire. Added a blinking pattern for the pico LED to show me which rate has been selected.
That’s about it! Thanks for the inspiration :)
