Authority record search is currently not weighted. This is a known limitation noted in the documentation, but I noticed that there wasn't an open issue for it. I believe this classifies as an enhancement request.
Without weighted results, there can be some not very relevant results showing up first. For example, we're having an issue with queries for common names resulting in top results being for authority records where the query term is in the control area. It's picking up on the note saying which staff member created the authority record, rather than favouring actual entity names.
