Fixated resources

I am interested to have an ability to add fixated resources, such as of
FTP, Gemini, HTTP, and RSYNC.

This would be helpful to share content over eDonkey2000, without the need
of publishers to know anything of PPN (Peer-to-peer Network).

Notice parameter "ws".

I think that, the vague term of "ws" (web seed) be better replaced by
"fs" (fixated source or fixed source). Nevertheless, supporting both
of which shall be fine.

Advantage

Implementing this would allow to utilize a fixed resource (HTTP) when
peers are unable to reach each other at a given moment, or when no
relevant peer is online in a particular moment.

Hmm, at least http(s) could be worthful as in enables e.g. open source to use the e2dk network to spread their software (as it is already done with bittorrent by e.g. debian). And amule has already an http client ;-)

I see another usecase: This way, newer amule versions could be distributed via http + e2dk in parallel, and also e.g. the ipfilters.dat. This way the infrastructure could be unloaded without any clientside disadvantages (e.g. slow down of downloads of these files).

Suppose, that you, @got3nks, publishes contents to distribute.

Your audience is not big enough to rely on over PPN (Peer-to-peer Network).

Therefore, you add a centralized source of yours (e.g. FTP, HTTP, SoulSeek, et cetera), until your content is shared by enough people to continue the distribution.

Suppose, that you, @got3nks, publishes contents to distribute.

However, I, @sjehuda, utilize Gnutella (Phex); @mrjimenez utilizes eDonkey2000 (aMule), and @Vollstrecker has no available PPN software for a certain period of time, so he resorts to FTP, Gemini, or HTTP.

Metalink is a useful single document to share over any software; and the software to receive the files will decide which protocol to utilize.

Instead of you, @got3nks, to publish several links, separately, you publish all of them in a single document.

In the example, @got3nks is the only one to have an access to all networks (i.e. eDonkey2000, Gnutella, et cetera).
