Hello, I have two folder of which I am using the "compare by size": There are only 36 files in one folder, 121 in the other : these are 7z file on big size (> 6G) that I don't want to compare, but I want to check if they are already in the other folder. WinMerge is taking way too much time for a simple size comparison : using Process Monitor, I can see what seems to be WinMerge reading the whole file and this would be accurate with the time it took
In the past, this was not as slow as it is now. I am using version 2.16.46.0 x64 I am remember trying some older version (2.16.34?) to no result. As a side note, I am forced to kill WinMerge because cancelling is not possible in this case. |

Have you added any additional properties like SHA-256, MD5 as columns?

Have you added any additional properties like SHA-256, MD5 as columns?
If so, remove those properties as they will require loading the entire file and will be very slow.
Note: It will have no effect if you do not delete them, not just hide them
