[ISSUE FORM] Pre-Submission Checks
[ISSUE FORM] Contribution Program
GSSoC 2026
[ISSUE FORM] Difficulty Level
Beginner
[ISSUE FORM] Affected Page or Component
Split Page – Continue Button / Bill Items Section (Step 1 of the bill splitting workflow)
[ISSUE FORM] Problem Description
Currently, the Continue button remains disabled when no bill items have been added, but there is no explanation for why it is disabled or what action the user should take next.
For first-time users, this creates confusion because they may not realize they need to parse a bill or manually add bill items before proceeding. The interface lacks contextual guidance, making the workflow less intuitive.
[ISSUE FORM] Expected Solution
Improve the user experience by providing clear feedback whenever the Continue button is disabled.
Possible improvements include:
Display a helper text such as "Add at least one bill item to continue."
Show a tooltip on hover explaining why the button is disabled.
Visually highlight the Parse Text button or Add Manually option as the recommended next step.
Ensure the disabled state remains accessible and informative.
This enhancement does not change the application's functionality but makes the workflow much clearer for users.

No response
[ISSUE FORM] Additional Context
this is a small UI/UX enhancement aimed at improving user onboarding and reducing confusion during the first step of the bill-splitting process.
The implementation should preserve the existing validation logic while adding contextual feedback to explain why the action is unavailable.
