RFE: establish some form of stats/analytics collection for our GH pages

Find an easy way to collect basic stats on our GH pages site.

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any stats/analytics functionality for GH pages built into GH; what exists appears to only be for the repository, not the site.

Popular alternative solutions include CloudFlare Pages and Google Analytics, however both of these are likely more involved than we want. Ideally we would have a solution that doesn't require any additional service and is offered free of charge.

Additional investigation is needed.
