The industrial design looks very generic

The ID of the speaker looks generic and very close to the design of the Braun LE03 speaker.

I suggest to start an exploration phase of different design possibilities, that would make the speaker stand out in the market.

Once a minimalistic yet unique design has been defined, then start doing user tests.

True enough. The design of the cabinet isn't revolutionary and it has likely been made many times over.

It seems they did a revamp (in 2020) of the original - which I didn't know of beforehand - and the STRØM speaker looks a lot closer to that I must admit.

I do have a lot of experience within design of speakers as former Concept & Design manager from B&O.

You are right about the resembles of the Strøm speaker and the Muji speaker/CD player - The Strøm speaker should have a design of its own.
The good part about a minimalistic, iconic & timeless design is it will not be discarded by a passing trend rather be the obvious choice for upgradability to last for a long time. Often in this case, quality of materials and an emotional value attached to the design plays a roll of how long you like to keep the product.

I am not saying the Strøm speaker should be very expensive but just something to have in mind.

What I would recommend is to look at the competitor landscape, see where the Strøm speaker would make a difference. Make sure the use case is right - I might be an idea to change the requirement of "wall mounted" also to include "free standing" because many people don't even bother about putting screws in the wall or live in a flat were they are not allowed to put things on the wall.
Emphasize the sustainable materials in the design.

Thank you for the input @KalleNor. The speaker are also intended for a none wall mounted scenario, as I completely agree with you. Many people do not bother to mount it on their wall. So that use cause must also be supported.
