Thanks for the effort to offer a solution, but with your suggestion, I still get the same error message I get when installing the DB following the official doc :

GCC 11.3 or newer is required to build MongoDB

It won't install GCC 11.3 on Debian 11 and that relatively old HW I have here.

I struggle with the MonoDB installation on Debian 11 at the same point. Even with the parameter "--disable-warnings-as-errors" i get the error:
Checking if C compiler is GCC 11.3 or newer...no
Checking if C++ compiler is GCC 11.3 or newer...no
ERROR: Refusing to build with compiler that does not meet requirements

Update: I switched to Debian Testing to be able to use a newer compiler and then it worked. Thanks for providing this solution.

@vgraba, @harvey56, I don't follow docker container, if you know how to fix it, then offer a patch or pull request.

Same problem on Cent OS 7. I did yum install devtoolset-11-gcc devtoolset-11-gcc-c++ and scl enable devtoolset-11 -- bash, but in no way it helped me to fix this.
