Headless, Discord: Authentication Failed Or Not Attempted

Hi, I am not good at anything and this is my first time using docker etc etc

I have MS connected successfully to scrobble from my Youtube Music account to Lastfm. However with discord (Headless), it's saying Authentication Failed Or Not Attempted.

Here's my discord.json in the config folder (personal info in [these]):

The 'name' and 'id' I chose arbitrarily. Note that the discord application I made does nothing at all, I just saw it said to make one. I am not trying to do any cover art aside from whatever Youtube Music returns. I refresh my discord and I'm idle/online.

I didn't do any ENV config I don't even know how that works.

I get this error when i click 'Start' on http://localhost:9078/

Pressing 'Force' can get it to say Running there however it doesn't show in Discord, and still says 0 failed, queued, or done scrobbles to discord.

Hi, your config looks fine. If you used the bot token from the Developer Portal, that’s the issue headless mode needs your Discord user token instead. Replace it and restart the container

Hi, thanks! I used the token for my discord account though.

I notice how the docs says "Active if any Discord application is online". I'm assuming that means any under my account, of which the one I made and only one there, is not online. Is that the problem and if so how do I go about putting it online when I have nothing for it to do?

Also I doubt that something like 2factor or modded discord clients would be an issue?

Hi, that line means any normal Discord client on desktop, mobile, or web not the app you created in the Developer Portal, so that app doesn’t need to be online. This failure happens before Multi-Scrobbler checks those sessions, so 2FA isn’t the issue. Copy your current user token into discord.json again, restart the container, then change your Discord status once. I’d use the official client for that first test. Let me know what result you get 👍

I notice that the token seems to have changed from last time.

Interesting. It now says Running and according to the Log, MS instantly sees my discord status updates. Just doesn't scrobble anything to Discord. I've changed the basic 'name' and 'id' fields again, and also've been restarting pc and the container.

If it's any use here's when I delete my status and also have vsc open (I have discord open on multiple devices / clients):

Have you tried closing vscode or clearing your custom status? From the "What about other activity types?" section in the discord docs:

Discord uses an undocumented activity type priority to determine what activity is shown "first" for your profile. The Listening activity type has the lowest priority.

This means that if you start any other type of activity (streaming, watching, competing, etc...) it will take precedence over MS's listening activity.

Your listening activity will still be visible by clicking into your full profile.

@FoxxMD I have tried both, and I click on my full discord profile and check activity also.

The MS web interface says (to Discord) 0 tracks scrobbled 0 failed still.
