[Feature] Import radarr/sonarr

Hi. Since radarr/sonarr have different and quite complex nomenclatures for folder names, files, etc., you could delegate the import operation directly to radarr/sonarr once the content has been downloaded. So if radarr/sonarr did the import, it would be better, so as to reflect all the settings you have in radarr/sonarr.

This is already how the Sonarr/Radarr integration works

VibraVid doesn't reproduce *arr's naming, it delegates the import.

When driven through the *arr integration, VibraVid downloads the file, then triggers RescanSeries/RescanMovie + DownloadedEpisodesScan/DownloadedMoviesScan (import mode Auto).

Sonarr/Radarr then import and rename it per your own settings.

The only requirement: the filename must be parseable by *arr (SxxExx for episodes, Title (Year) for movies) — the default formats already satisfy this.

If you're running VibraVid standalone, it uses its own movie_format/episode_format instead.

Okay for radarr. But what about sonarr? The last time I tried, I saw that it placed the episodes of a series in its own folder, "S1" (the season folder), while in sonarr I set the season name folder to Season <number>.
Instead of putting the episodes in Season <number> he put them in S<number"

I checked with radarr again. I tested it with a movie, and it saved it in the folder as Movie...(year) Actually, if it had delegated the entire import to radarr, it should have saved it as Movie...(year)...{tmdb} .....<other data>

The format of the final folder/filename (Movie (year) vs Movie (year) {tmdb-xxxx}) depends entirely on your Radarr naming configuration, VibraVid doesn't control that part.

If you want {tmdb-xxxx} in the name, enable it in Radarr → Settings → Media Management → Movie Naming

Actually, it's Radarr itself that, when it imports movies, "adjusts" the naming format to the one specified in Radarr's settings. The question is: If Vibravid delegates the naming to Radarr once it downloads the movie, why do I see it renamed differently? Does that mean Vibravid is renaming it?

There are two names at two stages:

1. Download name (VibraVid): VibraVid saves the file with its own naming (Title (Year)), required so Radarr can recognize it.
2. Final name (Radarr): VibraVid then triggers Radarr's normal download-client import (rescan + downloaded movies scan). Radarr imports the file and renames it per your Radarr settings. VibraVid doesn't touch it after that.

So the name you see is set by Radarr, not VibraVid — that's what "delegating naming to Radarr" means, so it's expected to differ from the temporary download name.

If instead you still see VibraVid's name inside Radarr's folder, the import didn't happen. Can you confirm: does the movie show hasFile = true in Radarr, and do you have "Rename Movies" enabled in Settings → Media Management?

I've been using these settings on radarr for quite some time. All imports have always been successful with radarr/sonarr, especially regarding the naming. I'd say Radarr is fine because I always use it to download content and have never had any problems like this. Regarding "hasFile," do you mean if the movie in Radarr had the video file?

Fixed in the next release. VibraVid now issues an explicit Rename command to Radarr/Sonarr after the import is confirmed, so your configured naming format is actually applied (a rescan only sets hasFile — it never renames the file, which is why you saw VibraVid's download name).

After you update to the next version, please make sure of two things, otherwise the rename won't take effect:

1. Enable renaming in Radarr/Sonarr

• Radarr → Settings → Media Management → Rename Movies = ON
• Sonarr → Settings → Media Management → Rename Episodes = ON

2. Match the PUID/PGID between VibraVid and Radarr/Sonarr
   The rename is a file move performed by the Radarr/Sonarr process. If VibraVid writes the file as a different user than the one Radarr/Sonarr runs as, the rename fails with a "Permission denied" error (and Radarr logs 0 movie files renamed). In your docker-compose, use the same PUID/PGID for the VibraVid container as for Sonarr/Radarr (e.g. PUID=1000, PGID=1000), and make sure the library folders are owned by that uid/gid.

To confirm it works after updating: download a title, then check that the file on disk is renamed to your format (e.g. with [tmdb-...], Season 01, etc.). If it's still not renamed, check the Radarr/Sonarr log for a RenameMovieFileService/Permission denied line — that points to a PUID/GID mismatch (condition 2).

@Arrowar I might as well write this here since it's related anyway—I want to avoid opening yet another issue; I've already opened 100 of them 😄 . It would be a good idea to add a feature to Vibravid that checks whether a movie, series, or episode is actually set to "Monitor" and skips the ones that aren't (on Radarr/Sonarr).
