linux instructions for installing an older release?

i'm on ubuntu studio 24.04 and have run into a problem with the install that several others have also run into. i thought i'd try installing an older version to see if the problem exists there as well. problem is, when i go to the releases page linked on the right of the main uvr page, while i do see several past versions, there are no linux installation instructions, just windows and mac.

how do i install a past release on ubuntu? please be very specific as i'm kind of a perma-n00b and not at all familiar with github.
