Changing period between Listening & Standby

Does anyone know ho I can reduce the time the AI agent stays listening after a conversation.

I've tried reducing the seconds-_to_sleep in this file from 20 to 10.
main\boards\common\power_save_timer.h

But this has had no impact. In any case, the current time seems to be around 70 seconds, so I'm pretty sure this is not the right place

You can modify the code set up a timer to call Application::CloseAudioChannel() to end the conversation.

This might be beyond my capabilities. Surely the period is already set somewhere in the application, otherwise good does it know return to stop listening?

Actually, server will end the conversation if user keeps silent for a certain period.

Ah OK, great. That makes sense.

So the only way to achieve that isto introduce new code into the application.

AI suggested this change to application.cc to address my requirement and it seems to work.

This approach uses the existing 1-second clock tick to count "silence" and the VAD (Voice Activity Detection) event to reset that count if the user is speaking.

Here is the recommended 2-part change:

Step 1: Prevent timeout while you are speaking

You need to reset the timer whenever the device detects your voice, otherwise, a long sentence (exceeding 10 seconds) would cause the device to cut you off.

Modify the MAIN_EVENT_VAD_CHANGE block (around line 233):

Why this works

1. Correct State: It only triggers when the device is kDeviceStateListening (waiting for you). It won't cut off the bot while it is kDeviceStateSpeaking.
2. Graceful Exit: Calling protocol_->CloseAudioChannel() triggers the existing callback on line 545, which automatically handles cleaning up the UI (SetChatMessage("", "")), putting the device into Low Power mode, and setting the state back to Idle.`
